Product Engineer, Mechanical
You will be a part of the ongoing focus for FLSmidth to maintain its position as the world's number one provider of products to the cement industry. You will have an influence on the design, execution and development of our products.
About the role
You will work with one of FLSmidth’s key products: the Vertical Roller Mills. As such, you will be responsible for driving and contributing to building the best possible Vertical Roller Mill for our customers. Taking ownership motivates you, and you constantly develop, maintain and service our product deliverables as well as improve quality and increase competitiveness. You will also travel worldwide to our various sites to ensure the correct design, manufacturing and installation as well as service visits to existing customers.
About the department
Your new department will be Global Product Engineering & Development, Grinding Technology. You will mainly be working from our headquarters in Valby, but you can expect 30-60 travel days per year as we are a global company working with colleagues, suppliers and customers all around the world. We have the entire technical responsibility for the machinery within our area.

Your qualifications:
You are a practiced and experienced mechanical engineer with solid knowledge of mechanical design. Ideally, you have 5 years’ experience with vertical roller mills from the cement industry. You know how to design a mechanical system with safety and 24/7 operations in mind.
You have extensive 3D skills, have experience with product development, can write documentation in English and know how to modularise and standardise across size ranges. Hence knowledge and experience within the afore mentioned areas is required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and site installation would be a plus.
To be successful in driving productivity, progress and development in your own area, you should be open-minded, full of initiative, resourceful and self-guided with a desire to follow through. To perform and coordinate activities effectively on a global level in the organisation, you must have excellent communication, cross-cultural understanding and team-oriented skills. Moreover, you are technically skilled and eager to develop, design and to shape the future of our product portfolio for grinding equipment throughout the world.

You will be:
- Innovating our products and promoting ideas to increased productivity
- Driving the development of the strategic initiatives for our products
- Working with detailed design and calculations
- Actively participating and contributing to digitalization in line with our strategy
- Collaborating and creating results with our stakeholders globally and across functions
- Handling SolidWorks as well as calculations and analysing/interpreting results from R&D
- Preparing 3D design work in SolidWorks
- Developing and automating documentation together with IT/configuration specialists
- Participating in our journey from Mechanical Engineering to Product Engineering where we include Electrical and Automation in our deliverables
