Blades Blade Introduction Center VBIC Tooling
Vestas Blades Introduction Centre (VBIC) is a function within the Blades organisation in the Manufacturing organisation. The function is responsible for delivery of our manufacturing production design, including special projects, development of processes and tooling of the blades in Vestas.
VBIC Tooling is focused on manufacturing tools which are used as a main tool or supporting tool in wind blade production. We are expanding the team and looking for new team members to develop key technologies in fiberglass winding equipment. You will then become the SME for long-term ownership of the technologies and tools.
Responsibilities
As Lead Engineer your primary responsibility will be to Execute Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and tasks related Engineering Change Orders (ECO). Requests could be anything from generating solutions to design challenges to fulfilling the product and technology roadmaps. Furthermore, the responsibilities include:
You will be in close contact and anchor point with all Blade factories to be able to support and deliver as agreed. We expect that you give guidance to motivate and inspire your colleagues through your technical leadership. Above all else, you always set safety as a priority, hereby in line with HS&E policy.

Responsibilities

Requests could be anything from generating solutions to design challenges to fulfilling the product and technology roadmaps. Furthermore, the responsibilities include:
- Review and approve technical documentation and drawings
- Overall ownership for creating right requirement statements
- Having several technical areas as Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Responsible of adherence to all external standards as e.g. CE & UL standards etc. as well as internal specifications and standards
- Delivery of design work to gate reviews, matching specifications for function, cost, quality and time
- Responsible for providing the most robust, reliable, efficient solutions with highest performance at the lowest cost
You will be in close contact and anchor point with all Blade factories to be able to support and deliver as agreed. We expect that you give guidance to motivate and inspire your colleagues through your technical leadership. Above all else, you always set safety as a priority, hereby in line with HS&E policy.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree, either Bachelor or Master level
- A background in composite engineering (fiberglass winding) / blades
- Extensive knowledge from Manufacturing and Design for Manufacturing
- Experience and specific results from larger manufacturing companies. Min. 2 years
- Results from cost out or value engineering projects
- Strong documentation and specification skills

- Ability to create relations and interact with stakeholders on all levels
- Good communication skills which enable you to convey complex problems
- Excellent problem-solving skills and able to manage tasks across a team of engineers
- Process-oriented and have a structured way to work - it's important that you can meet deadlines
- Proactive, performance oriented, and motivated
