About the department
Safety Surveillance is a department within Global Safety and is situated in Bagsværd, Denmark. It consists of 4 different departments and approximately 80 employees. Within the Safety Surveillance department, the Semaglutide sc team has global responsibility for the surveillance of all safety information for semaglutide sc from either post marketing sources or clinical trial activities.
The position
You will be responsible for leading a team consisting of 7-10 drug safety/pharmacovigilance experts with a high level of educational background within life science. Your main tasks will include the daily management and development of staff as well as engaging in scientific discussion and supporting key activities such as signal detection and risk management activities. In addition, you will be supervising the internal Novo Nordisk safety committee and will contribute to quality improvement projects.
Cross-functional collaboration will be essential parts of your work day. You should have a flair for building and using close collaboration and interaction with other functional areas in Novo Nordisk, especially the Clinical Development team and Regulatory Affairs team.
You will work in a fast-paced environment reflecting the increasing demands from regulatory authorities while always keeping the patient at the centre of what you do. As such, you will influence the future of Safety Surveillance.
Qualifications
Preferably you have a Medical Doctor (MD) degree. Alternatively, you may have a university degree within Natural Sciences (DVM, MSc. Pharm. or equivalent). You have a minimum of 5 years of experience from the pharmaceutical industry in the medical/clinical development or drug safety departments. A solid understanding of medical concepts, disease processes, scientific methodology, drug development and data analysis is very important, documented scientific training (e.g. PhD) and experience from interactions with regulatory authorities will be an additional advantage.
You will also preferably have experience with people management. You set direction, lead and motivate your team to deliver their best and have a desire to influence and impact others beyond your own area.
You have high personal integrity and are responsible, well-organised, a strong communicator, able to work under pressure when needed and able to make independent decisions regarding drug safety issues.
You are a strong driver and a dedicated team player, who thrives in a global environment of continuous development and you are good at establishing contact and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.
You must be fluent in English (both written and spoken) and be an experienced user of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook).
