Context:
The position will focus on:
TOTAL\u0027s office in Copenhagen is the head office of activities in 5 countries (UK, Netherlands, Norway, Denmark, and Russia), as well as the technological support unit for worldwide Offshore activities. This provides access to a large number of prospective use cases for Machine Learning, Datascience projects, and to significant amount of opportunities to leverage industrial data.
Your activities will be the following:
You will work along a data scientist with significant experience in data science applied to the oil and gas business, and the specificities of most of the use cases in this sector:
You will be directly exposed to INNOVATION and DIGITAL projects, as well as to operational problematics in link with DATA.
To add interest and value to your VIE : subjects are various and exciting, with options to publish articles on some topics.
An advantage of the intended position is that it will focus on the data science side of things, not too much on the data engineering side of things (IT implementation).
The position will focus on:
- Performing data science projects, with a focus on identifying digital use cases in the domain of production optimization, failure reduction, data valorization
- Demonstrating in a sandbox mode (typically with Jupyter Notebooks) their feasibility as well as their value, before industrialization by digital teams
- Some projects can lead to webservice developments (plotly/dash) for prototyping of the solution

- Frequently limited dataset size when compared to the high dimensionality of data (i.e. numbers of parameters at stake)
- Working with machine learning models tied up to systems with underlying physics rules
- Time-series or depth-series (geological logs)
You will be directly exposed to INNOVATION and DIGITAL projects, as well as to operational problematics in link with DATA.
