At Nordcee, Department of Biology we are looking for a data scientist/research assistant to help us organize and curate our data.

We are Earth scientists who accumulate large data sets on the composition of sedimentary rocks in geologic time on modern sediments from throughout the world. Our ambition is to generate coupled interactive data sets, where data can be easily extracted, and compared with other literature data sets.

What we need is a data scientist/research assistant to help us organize and curate our data, to extract data from the literature and to generate computational platforms for data analysis. A GIS framework will be important for some of the data organization analyses. Overall, we need someone who is motivated, with good ideas as to how data bases can be organized and manipulated and with skills using GIS. To be considered for this position the applicants should have a PhD degree.

The data scientist/research assistant will be part of Nordcee and specifically the Canfield Villum group exploring the relationship between the evolution of the Earth’s chemical environment and the evolution of life. The position will run until 30 June 2023. Application deadline: 29 April 2022.
