Become a part of our ambitious Analytics team in Kamstrup

Kamstrup’s business is undergoing rapid development, which means that the requirements and demands for our smart solutions targeting the water industry are growing. Therefore, we are looking for two additional Data Scientists to join our Analytics team.

With direct reference to our Head of Analytics, you will become part of our Data Science team in the Technology Software department. You will be working alongside with highly skilled data scientists and software developers in Denmark and Spain. Together we are a highly agile team that innovates closely together with our utility clients. Our mission is to develop intelligent solutions that will enable our utility clients to make decisions based on insights from data.

A job focusing on creating innovative data solutions
In the position as Data Scientist your main responsibility will be to experiment with data towards new innovative solutions that utilize the value hidden in data from meters and grid sensors. You will have direct and consistent contact with product managers, software developers, customers, UX designers and hardware developers. You will be working on proof-of-concept projects and collaborating with our software development team who delivers the final commercial solution.

More specifically you will be responsible for:

  • Doing data discovery on new and existing data sources
  • Framing new ideas for data analytics based on dialogue with internal and external stakeholders
  • Working on PoC projects together with customers
  • Designing and developing algorithms for customer facing products

You can expect 15-20 travel days per year.

Personality matters
We are looking for a talented data scientist who can take our analytical platform to new hights in collaboration with partners and customers worldwide. You hold a degree within natural sciences, engineering, computer science or similar, and we imagine that you have experience within modelling, coding, and statistics. Whether you have some years of experience or seek out the career opportunity as newly graduated is not crucial. What matters is your attitude and drive to innovate and create new customer-centric data solutions to our customers. In addition, it is a requirement that you have experience with the following:

  • Machine learning – e.g. from forecasting, optimisation, recommender systems or predictive maintenance
  • Coding (we use python and R)
  • Collaborative coding using e.g. git
  • Data extraction and wrangling

Moreover, it will be considered an advantage, if you have experience with one or more of the following:

  • Building data visualisation applications for prototypes and PoC’s using Shiny or dash
  • Containerisation using e.g. Kubernetes
  • Collaboration with software development teams
  • Linux or Unix
  • Knowledge about the utility industry

As a person you are collaborative and possess strong communication skills, since the role requires frequent interaction with different stakeholders within and outside the organization. You have a structured and analytical approach to your tasks and are able to place yourself in the costumers needs. Finally, it is important that you are curious on staying up to date with new technologies, as we continuously work on challenging and improving new solutions.

It is a requirement that you speak and write English fluently.
