Your new role
As Senior Data Warehouse Specialist with focus on Data Modelling, you will join Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence, where they are building the current and future Data and Analytical solutions in Group Finance. Nordea is developing on Snowflake using various enterprises and self-service data integrations tools (CL) and analytical platforms like Spark, DataStage and SSIS. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the data models in a data warehouse, supporting a wide range of business processes within Treasury in Group Finance. You will be working closely with other IT teams and business stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:
- Defining dimensional data modelling framework and standard practices
- Designing dimensional data models and high-level ETL solutions
- Assisting the data warehouse development team with translating high-level ETL solutions into implementable ETL flows
- Creating high-level source-to-target mappings together with the Business
- Providing technical leadership to the data warehouse development team
- Documenting the dimensional data models and managing their evolution

To succeed in this position, you should have the following knowledge and skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts and standard approaches
- Advanced knowledge of Dimensional Data Modelling
- Advanced knowledge of ETL systems and standard ETL sub-systems
- Advanced knowledge of Data Integration concepts
- Strong skills in translating business requirements to dimensional data models
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under own initiative once guidance and goals are provided
- Ability to provide leadership and guidance to the data warehouse development team
- Knowing what ‘good looks like’ when it comes to data warehousing in 2021
- Not afraid of getting your hands dirty
Experience in one or more of the following technologies is preferred, but not mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Systems
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working on designing dimensional data models and ETL solutions, working in complex business data domains and interacting with complex data processing pipelines
- Hands-on experience with writing SQL code (ties in with not being afraid of getting your hands dirty)
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake (their new data platform) - Adequate support and training will be provided to the right candidate
- Knowledge about commercial banking products and traded financial instruments; Liquidity & ALM domain knowledge - Adequate support and training will be provided to the right candidate
