Europæiske ERV has an ambition for an almost completely digital business model, where everything can be done online and without the customers having to be in direct contact with insurance agents. To succeed, this requires to be on top of the technological trends to stay ahead of the competition.

In the role as Nordic IT Director, you will be responsible for heading the digital journey that includes making sure that Europæiske ERV has the right IT strategy, tools, and systems in place to reach the overall vision of being Scandinavia’s leading free time insurer. You will join an organisation with offices in Denmark and Sweden. Because of Europæiske ERV’s regional structure, you will be able to balance between implementing Group solutions and developing other applications that match your region’s needs.

Working out of the HQ in Copenhagen, you will report to the Nordic COO, and with a dotted line to the Group CIO in Germany. You will also be part of the management team in Nordic Operations, regularly meet with the international IT practice groups, and engage with many stakeholders across the business.

Setting the strategy and roadmap for digitalisation, and building IT for the future


Most importantly, you will as Nordic IT Director ensure a well-functioning IT landscape that meets the changing business needs and security in an increasingly competitive market. The task is to drive the future digitalisation to make the business processes more automated and consistent, without jeopardizing correct governance and IT security levels. Next to this, you will be a trusted partner to the Executive and Nordic Senior Management in all IT related matters to ensure shared objectives and be a central partner and enabler of the overall strategy.

To support you in realizing the ambitious objectives, you will have a trusted team with whom you together manage security, IT operations, and an outsourced infrastructure operations. You will also collaborate closely with a project- and development team that includes 12 external resources in Poland. In total, including external FTEs, you will lead, engage, and develop 18 FTEs including 2 mid managers. Together with your teams, your responsibilities include to:

  • Facilitate the implementation of suitable technologies to streamline all internal operations and help optimize strategic benefit.
  • Design and customize the existing technological systems and platforms to improve customer experience, bringing new functionality into usage.
  • Set the key objectives and targets for the IT department and implement processes, guidelines, and follow-up on performance to promote a high-performing and collaborative working culture.
  • Ensure proper IT security and Governance in cooperation with the organization and group functions.
  • Plan and prioritize the implementation of new systems by analysing the value, risks, and costs of information technology to advise management and suggest actions.

Key to your success is to drive change and digitalization, while ensuring that people and processes follow, and that actions are in line with compliance and governance.

Experienced IT Executive, who can lead change, digitalization, and people


We expect you to be an outgoing, inspiring, relationship- and business-oriented people manager, who can create followership in your pursuit of development and digitalization. You can inspire and engage people with different motivation drivers to work towards the same goals and focus on providing a unique customer experience.

In general, you seek continuous improvements and optimizations, and set high standards for yourself and others. Though you prioritize a stable IT-operation with frameworks and structures, you are also flexible and agile in your mindset. You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, while also being solution-oriented and hands-on, and in your work, you move with ease at a strategic and tactical level and can translate strategies into concrete plans and execution.

Professionally, your offer experience from the financial sector or another industry that is technology driven in their business operations, and additionally you offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar that you combine with strong experience from a strategic IT role and preferably in a MS environment.
  • People management experience, where you have headed different IT capabilities towards the same objectives, and you have experience from working in a performance-oriented environment.
  • Excellent understanding of how IT supports the business strategy and deep knowledge of IT systems, architecture, and infrastructure
  • Background in designing / developing IT systems and planning IT implementation – e.g., having worked with .Net and API functionalities.
  • Native in one of and understanding of the Scandinavian languages, and fluent in business English.
