Operations Manager for Tevel Metro Light Rail, O&M, Tel Aviv

On behalf of our costumer Tevel Metro Ltd., KP Consulting is looking for a highly experienced Operations Manager in the railway sector for an international assignment.

KP Consulting is a Danish-based company founded in 2006 with a branch-office in Israel. KP Consulting is contributing to the railway sector by recruitment within Project Management, Quality Assurance, HSE and Technical Specialists and expanding our business with new partnerships within the industry.

We are looking for a highly experienced Operations Manager to play a vital role in the development of the Operation & Safety-department for the new Red Line in Tel Aviv. The line is app. 24 km long will run from south to the northeast with a significant portion of it underground. The total cost of the red line is estimated at approximately US$3 billion.

As Operations Manager you will have a substantial impact on the performance of the operation, reporting to the CEO and a unique opportunity for a once in a lifetime experience.

Job Description:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the overall operation, safety and efficiency of the line and be part of the senior management of the company along with the CEO, CFO, maintenance manager, safety manager, public service, and IT-manager.

The responsibilities of the Operations Manager covers operational readiness activities, engineers, OCC-operators, train- and station staff to get the line ready to operate as well as providing input into Test and commissioning (T&C) and activities relating to Trial Operations at a strategic and executive level. This includes:

• Getting ready to operate the line
• T&C
• Trial run
• Responsible for the overall operation, safety and efficiency of the Line
• Ongoing operation of the line as prescribed in the directives of the Ministry of Transport (MOT)

Job requirements:

Bachelor or master’s degree in business management, engineering, operations management, or other related areas; Minimum of 6 years (out of the last 10 years) of rail operations management, including a significant period in light rail operations.

Tevel Metro is licensed by MOT to manage the operational activities associated with commercial service on the Red line (Tel Aviv Light Rail).

Tevel Metro is a joint subsidiary of Egged (51%) and Chinese companies Shenzhen Metro and CCECC. Egged is the largest public transportation company in Israel.

Tevel Metro was elected by the State of Israel to operate the first LRT line in Tel Aviv which is under construction and expected to be ready for operation by November 2022.
