MLD has developed a revolutionary trawl management system, which has been tested extensively in a live environment and is ready for the market. The system has achieved a great interest amongst potential customers and several orders have already been received. Therefore, MLD is entering the next phase, in which production, delivery, and implementation of the system at customer locations will be a key focus area.
The role and responsibilities
The position as well as the function are new and central for the continuous growth of MLD and development of the system. Therefore, with reference to the CEO, you will also play a key role in the collaboration between the management team and your colleagues. The position is wide-ranging with many exciting and various tasks, including:
In the longer term, the role is expected to develop into an independent department, in which you will have a unique opportunity to have significant influence upon the structure of this department. However, your technical competences are most important, so leadership ambitions are neither limiting nor crucial when applying for the position.
Personal profile
You are experienced and have previously been solely responsible for electromechanical systems / programs. Your communication skills in English are good verbally as well as in writing.

About MLD Trawl Steering System
MLD Trawl Steering System has developed a revolutionary trawl management system that will lift the global trawl fishery into the future. The first systems have been fully developed, delivered and put into operation with very promising results. The design of the system is inspired by aerodynamic developments within the aviation industry and ensures optimal control of the trawl through digitalization, resulting in reduced water resistance, optimal opening and perfect positioning of the trawl, as well as significant fuel savings.
MLD is a technology company that will revolutionize trawling globally, moving it in a greener and more sustainable direction in the coming years. The MLD technology is based on 3 patents, which give the remote-controlled trawl doors (robots) unprecedented flexibility. MLD gives trawlers full control over their trawl during fishing and thus the opportunity to achieve significant fuel savings and efficiency. As the first of its kind in the industry, the trawls also protect the seabed, as the remote-controlled trawl doors avoid bottom contact and thus the destruction of the seabed.
Since the beginning in 2015, MLD has taken an idea, developed the technology across a number of prototypes, into the first generation of commercial products, for which several orders have been received in recent months. The technology has great potential, and MLD has entered a collaboration with DTU Aqua, which will document the benefits of managing and controlling trawl doors over the seabed. This project is supported by the Ministry of the Environment's GUDP funds with DKK 4.5 million and the funding for further growth in the upcoming years is ensured. It is expected that steerable trawl doors will be a requirement in a few years for all trawlers and the development of solutions will become more and more complex.

- Maintenance of the systems existing control software and firmware
- Development and implementation of the next generation of software and firmware, in which further optimization of user interface and automatic control functions are expected to be emphasized
- Customer support and training
- Implementation of delivered systems at customer locations
- Participation in optimization projects concerning the product's hardware
- Implementation and integration of new electro-mechanical components into the system
In the longer term, the role is expected to develop into an independent department, in which you will have a unique opportunity to have significant influence upon the structure of this department. However, your technical competences are most important, so leadership ambitions are neither limiting nor crucial when applying for the position.
Personal profile
You are experienced and have previously been solely responsible for electromechanical systems / programs. Your communication skills in English are good verbally as well as in writing.
As a person you are:
- Experienced with design and implementation of embedded software solutions, primarily on ARM Cortex M platform MCUs
- Experienced with Keil uVision (ANSI C) and knowledge of Embarcadero C++ Builder, which is used in connection with various tools (C++)
- Proactive and experienced in managing projects independently
- Team-player who is confident and motivated being involved in projects in collaboration with external development partners
- Electronics engineer or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
