Your position

As our new Power System Study Engineer, you will join the highly specialized and motivated High Voltage team in the Renewables business area. With our vast in-house knowledge and experience, we support our EPC clients in the Engineering phase by validating our solutions for bringing energy to the shore.

We are world-leading within offshore high voltage transmission systems, and our Offshore Wind markets include Europe, Asia-pacific and the USA.

Your tasks & responsibilities

You will be part of preparing Power system Studies in our EPC projects. Your role will be to support the engineering team with design input parameters from the calculation model e.g., over voltages for Surge arrestor design and CT saturation assessment. Furthermore, to validate ratings, protection selectivity etc. in the proposed design specifications. Finally, to demonstrate performance in accordance with employer requirements and Grid code compliance.

The studies typically cover the entire transmission system i.e., export and array cables layout plus onshore and offshore substations design and structure.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Load flow and short circuit calculations including reactive power capability
  • Dynamic, transient and harmonic studies
  • Protection coordination and system stability studies (FRT scenarios etc.)
  • Insulation coordination study
  • Active involvement in design and calculations as well as grid code compliances tasks
  • Executing development tasks in general (improve power studies, concept studies, etc.)
  • Engaging with stakeholders internally and externally

Your profile & qualifications

As a person, you are extremely conscientious who is thorough in work requiring accuracy and maintaining quality. You are a systematic, precise thinker that is attentive to details. You think logically, are willing to self-learn and can work in small teams. Also, a collaborative and solution-oriented nature is a must.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering with, preferably, experience in high voltage electrical power system.
  • Excellent IT and programming skills
  • Experience with power systems studies tools ETAB, PSS/E or Power Factory
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English, verbal and written
