Esbjerg

Looking for a workplace where you can make a real impact? A role where you can combine your hands-on experience with engineering from idea to handover? And do you enjoy interacting with a wide range of people, both internally and externally, locally, and globally? If so, we want to hear from you!

Your position

As an Automation & Control Engineer in the Renewables division, you will join our dedicated Automation & Electrical team, working alongside ten welcoming colleagues based in Denmark and Poland. Together, we develop automation and control solutions for specialized offshore substation projects on a global scale.

In this role, you will be involved in all phases of large-scale projects, from initial design and client meetings to testing and on-site commissioning, ensuring smooth project execution. You will also play a key role in standardizing processes and helping to establish best practices for future projects. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career, take on responsibility, and shape the future of electrical designs at a market-leading company.

Your place of work will be either at our Global HQ located in Esbjerg or from our office in Copenhagen. The position is full-time and 10-30 travel days per year to clients, suppliers and our other locations should be expected.

“Being a part of the automation team gives me great satisfaction. I can improve myself as an engineer and work within many different disciplines, share ideas, discuss solutions. I enjoy the fact that I can participate in every stage of the project, from basic design to commissioning and service,” says Szymon Kapłoński, Manager, SCADA Team.

Your tasks & responsibilities

As an Automation & Control Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of automation and control systems for offshore substation projects.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Design, development, and integration of OSS (Offshore Substation) auxiliary systems, including HMI and panel design.
  • Clarifying design requirements with clients and ensuring engineering alignment across system disciplines.
  • Creating system specifications for both internal and external suppliers.
  • Managing documentation, including design specifications, test/verification procedures, operating instructions, and software documentation.
  • Supporting the innovation and digitalization of engineering design solutions and pricing for our product line.
  • Conducting verification, testing, and providing technical support.
  • Participating in on-site commissioning to ensure successful implementation.

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for an outgoing and dedicated engineer who is excited about automation and renewable energy and wants to leave their personal mark on it. This role involves close collaboration with various technical disciplines, so being a team player who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment is key. With daily communication with many stakeholders, you will need to be a strong communicator who’s both structured and proactive in your approach.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • A relevant BA or MA in e.g., electrical engineering, marine engineering or similar experience in Automation & Control.
  • Practical experience working with automation solutions and installations, and potentially hands-on experience in integrating and getting systems up and running on a construction site.
  • Knowledge of offshore substations.
  • Experience with the following would be an advantage:
    • PLC- and HMI systems.
    • Siemens SIMATIC S7 1500 and ET200 SP series PLCs.
    • SCADA systems.
    • System integration.
    • HVAC systems.
    • Communication protocols.

  • Knowledge of OT security.
  • Fluency in English, verbal and written.
