Opportunity


As a Finance Business Partner in IT Finance, you will be working closely with the NAE and ESM functions, supporting them and challenging them in their forecast and ensuring they have the relevant and accurate financial data to make the right decisions in both BAU and project scenarios.

The NAE and ESM functions combined portfolio within TSE is around 192mUSD for which you will be the responsible finance manager. Including Technology wide software governance scope is 300mUSD. In addition, there will be responsibility of the Maidenhead Facilities Budget of $6m.

Key responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning including budgeting and rolling forecast, risks, and opportunities.
  • Build effective relationship with Heads of function and in all aspects behave as a value adding trusted finance business partner.
  • Provide financial support and guidance in project business cases and total cost of ownership (TCO) evaluations.
  • Support finance leadership in ensuring functional strategies are aligned with strategic business direction.
  • Collect, interpret, understand, and document relevant business reasons to explain variances to budget and present these simply and accurately to relevant stakeholders for action.
  • Be an integral part of the software review and renewal process and help govern the process from ideation to execution.
  • Work closely in partnership with offshore accounting and reporting team on month end including – financial controlling, monitoring IT Transactions (IT services & assets) to ensure alignment with IT accounting key data structure, accruals and maintain efficient financial data.
  • Work closely with management teams to drive financial stability, accuracy of data, planning and financial analysis of new cost savings initiatives and financial impact from projects.
  • By understanding cost drivers and business requirements of IT services, collaborate to develop new cost saving opportunities and support in implantation.
  • Challenge unjustified spend and unrealistic forecast by understanding business needs and technology strategy.
  • Review, challenge and approve contract and purchase order requests – validating compliance to budget, contracting policy and cost versus benefit/risk – escalating within function as necessary.
  • Drive projects and processes in support of Technology finance objectives including standardisation, offshoring, and unbiased business decisions.
  • Maersk line UK board papers (tech costs).

Who are we looking for:

The ideal candidate will ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or equivalent Bachelor degree.

You have solid finance partner experience, with proven track record and ability to understand the business in order to have a better forecast, save money.

Furthermore you:

  • Have experience with financial planning/budget cycle/forecasting
  • Have experience with business cases
  • Have knowledge of Corporate IT and nature of engaging with IT stakeholders.
  • Are proficient with SAP, excel, PowerPoint, power BI and similar analytics tools
  • Are a focused self-starting individual able to deliver consistent results in an ambiguous environment
  • Have the ability to create collaborative and productive working relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Have attention to detail
  • Are curious of the world of technology.
