About the department

In Diabetes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (DAPI) Finance and Environment, Health and Safety (EHS), we support our Diabetes API production facilities with financial analysis and business insights. We transform market and manufacturing data into strategies, informing managerial decisions with our findings. We contribute to a range of optimisation projects and provide many the insights that shape the way we will do things in the future. Our data sources are varied, and the models we employ have been part of the Novo Nordisk success – making us ready for the latest Novo Nordisk product is part of our mission, ensuring that we work in the best way possible, when it comes to efficiency, yield and agility.

In the DAPI Finance team, we are proud to be part of the Novo Nordisk success story, and we enjoy maintaining the humorous and ambitious environment, we all contribute to. Here, we are good at helping each other with the complicated challenges, and at celebrating each other’s victories. We look forward to welcoming you in the team, and to sharing our knowledge and experience.

The position

The manufacturing of insulin is a complicated process with many steps that all need to be perfectly aligned to obtain a safe, high-quality, cost-effective output. We have been working on improving, scaling and optimising the processes involved since 1923 – and with every technological development, new challenges and opportunities arise. Right now, we are in the middle of the next step, making us a true Industry 4.0 site, with the agility and scale to accommodate the scope of the new products, Novo Nordisk has launched.

This involves a very close look at every nook and cranny of the many process steps, making sure that we do things the best way possible in every professional area involved – including the economy of what we do. You will be part of a team that is responsible for controlling and reporting on Production Economy in the Diabetes API production. In this role you will provide business insight and key knowledge to ongoing performance and specific business cases and challenges. Your concise analysis and presentations will assist with relevant input in the weighing of resources, clearing the way for a safe, stabile and high-performing process setup in collaboration with support and quality teams.

A prerequisite for this value creation is a strong understanding of production economy, well developed analytical skills, data flair, and a strong understanding of the underlying accounting, which you will be responsible for.

You will need to develop a strong process and business understanding in order to support our people in the production facilities and communicate to senior management. You will be working in a versatile environment where you need to know and understand the details as well as being able to think at the strategic level.

What we offer is a unique opportunity to apply your knowledge within economics and accounting in an exciting, ambitious environment, where your insights are valued and your ideas will have impact. While we develop our workplace together, we enjoy the opportunities to learn at the forefront of technology in a truly global organisation – and we know you will too, if you are half as curious as we are.

Qualifications

You have earned a master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration or similar, and proven your skills in a busy environment for at least three years, preferably in a regulated production setup like pharma, the food, aviation or gas/oil industry. You know your way well around financial planning and reporting, and you feel quite at home presenting to both management and across professional distances. Your business understanding is broadly founded, and your results speak for themselves. Of course, your analytical skills are second to maybe only the level of structure you apply in your approach.

When priorities change – which they do from time to time in a fast-moving setup like ours – you change focus with ease, executing new approaches and applying your creativity when you work independently, build trustful relations to your stakeholders and enjoy being proactive in your every dealing with them. As you can tell, strong communication skills are necessary for this position, in both Danish and English.

You understand the necessity of regulation, and value the meticulous documentation we all do. You base your solid decisions on data, and you are always on the lookout for improving the way we do things, applying your LEAN mindset to every corner of our setup. SAP, Tableau and Alteryx are household names to you, and you
