Finance Manager, DHL Global Forwarding (Denmark)
We are searching for a strong candidate to drive and support the work within Finance.
The position has full line reference to our Danish and Nordic CFO.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the accurate and timely production of financial accounts for the division and the primary Record to report (RTR), Purchase to Payment (PtP), Intercompany (IC) & Order to Cash (OtC) processes owner.DGFs products and services - within air and ocean freight - are delivered to our customers at the right quality, and in a consistent manner. In other words, ensure that the operation and your colleagues at all times live up to the requirements in the ISO-standards covering our industry.
You will be part of a professional Finance team of 11 people.
Role Purpose and Scope:
Besides your primary responsibility the position also requires you to
•Manage the preparation of monthly financial statements in an efficient and cost-effective manner, and in line with internal and external accounting principles (IRFS knowledge preferred), policies and standards, in order to produce a clear and accurate view at all times of company’s financial situation
•Manage PtP, RtR, IC and OtC in an efficient and cost-effective manner, and in line with internal and external policies and standards, in order to optimize the net working capital and minimize provisions for the business.
•Have the direct management of 7 finance staff in the DK and indirect leadership of 12 more within the SSC based in Chennai, India.
Key Responsibilities:
•Ensures compliance to the GOM (Global Operating Model) and reports any deviations
•Interfaces with regional/global process owner and service providers regarding outsourced activities.
•Participates in the service providers’ governance and works directly with the service providers to identify improvement opportunities
•Managing the relationship with external stakeholders especially auditors
•Provides information and analysis to the regional head office to give them clear understanding of the DK business
•Responsible, in conjunction with the RtR, OtC, PtP, IC specialists, for reviewing the process performance reports and provide feedback to service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are being met and the process is continued to be improved
•Defines and implements local policies to meet globally defined procedures (GOM SOPs)
•Provides leadership and coaching to their direct reports and develops yearly departmental goals and tracks to target.
•Cross-functional communications and engagement
•Leads projects and change management to implement process improvements in the area of scope.
•Obtains and maintains a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
•Ensures global internal control framework in the area of scope kept up to date.
•Deputize activities for DK CFO and respond to external queries when necessary
Qualifications and skills
We expect you to have
•University degree in Finance or equivalent plus at least 5 years of experience in related field
•Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS), statutory, regulatory and legal requirements
•High degree of conceptual and analytical skills
•Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), fluent in English
•Project management skills
•Strong coaching and people development skills
•Effective problem evaluation and solution
Primary work place and travel need
Your primary place of work will be at DHL Global Forwarding’s Danish head office in Kastrup, Copenhagen.
