Maersk is looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner (FBP) to join the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team for the Commercial Excellence functions in Copenhagen.

You will as part of the team support the performance management processes for Sales, Customer Service & Experience and Marketing and as part of the position be a dedicated FBP to Twill, our focused value proposition offering a simpler digital-first and more user-friendly shipping and logistics experience.

In your role you will work with a wide range of both commercial and finance stakeholders to optimise and develop the business. You will be part of a team continuing a transformation journey in Maersk and the way we in finance support the business.

As a Senior FBP you will be expected to quickly learn the business and work across the floors in both HQ and the Frontline. You will be expected to identify risks and opportunities and support stakeholder’s decision-making process. This role holds multiple challenges and provides excellent learning opportunities in finance and with the business.

Key responsibilities


As part of the FP&A team for Sales, Customer Service & Experience and Marketing, with dedicated support to Twill, you will act as a trusted partner to stakeholders in the Commercial and Finance organisation. Functional reporting will be to the Head of FP&A for Commercial Excellence with an indirect reporting line to the Head of Twill. Expect up to 20 travel days per year.

Your main responsibilities will be to drive part of key financial processes and the operating system supporting performance management, management reporting, financial planning and decision making in close collaboration with various stakeholders. You will work directly with senior stakeholders providing clear business and financial insights.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Performance management and management reporting: Drive accurate, timely and aligned reporting of financial and commercial performance indicators. Act as the analytical anchor point for performance reviews, drive follow ups and gap to plan closure. Challenge productivity and drive efficiency across the finance team

• Forecasting and budgeting: Responsible for the Quarterly forecasting process, planning and reporting

• Opportunity and pipeline management: Provide forward looking and independently initiated analysis, including profitability analysis as a subject matter expert

• Decision making: Contribute to form business decisions and enable follow-up. Assist in evaluating alternative strategies and proving recommendations to the business. Perform ad-hoc analysis and insights based on business need

• Continuous improvement: Drive simplification of reports, automation of reporting and use of analytics tools

We are looking for


The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in finance or economics (Cand.Merc, Cand.Polit, Cand.Oecon if from Denmark, or equivalent) combined with at least seven years of work experience from analytical positions within finance, management reporting, financial planning and analysis, management and/or strategy consultancy, business development or equivalent.
We expect you:
• Have a thorough understanding of finance and a sincere interest in understanding the business to drive performance and value

• Are result driven and have a strong logical and analytical capacity being well organised with high attention to detail

• Are a self-starter with a strong driving force and a “can-do” attitude, striving for continuous improvement and wanting to solve problems even if finding answers are not easy

• Enjoy working with senior stakeholders and the challenges this presents, whilst at the same time enjoy working in the engine room and not afraid of “getting your hands dirty”

• Are an extroverted team player who is used to and enjoys working independently with ability to engage with and influence, guide and challenge multiple stakeholders

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong integrity and a humble personality that goes well with people at all levels in a global organisation

• Are used to and enjoy working in a challenging, fast paced and changing environment dealing with a lot of different tasks at the same time

• Are skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, while experience from BI systems and SAP is a plus

• Are fluent in written and spoken English. Danish is not required

Past experience working with or within Commercial Excellence functions is an additional benefit, but not a must.
