Fleet Management and Technology is responsible for ship management of all Maersk owned container vessels. The operation is primarily conducted out of Copenhagen, Singapore, Mumbai, and Manila.

We are looking for a Finance Business Partner based in Copenhagen, to join our global Business Finance team, supporting the Marine HR function and the FMT management team.

In this role, your mission is to drive strong performance management, providing financial analysis and shaping business decisions. You will partner with the Marine HR function, who are responsible for the planning of 12,000+ seafarers on more than 300 vessels as well at the FMT management team, supporting with the planning and controlling of HQ SG&A costs. Your main responsibilities will include management reporting, forecasting, budgeting as well as operational and financial performance management.

Key Responsibilities

The Finance Business Partner will own all financial data and deliver accurate and timely information for financial and KPI reporting, establishing a strong link between insights from financial performance and recommended operational actions.

Key tasks:

  • Coordinate target setting and rolling forecast processes, ensuring that both short and long-term strategic priorities are accommodated.
  • Contribute to business decisions by leaders, internal and external partners.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support business requirements.
  • Provide forward looking, independently initiated analysis, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Preparation of management reporting, including variance analysis, explanations, and related proposed actions.
  • Drive process efficiencies and automation through BI tools.
  • Support month and year-end closing process.
  • Provide visibility to management on progression against strategic initiatives.
  • Deliver insights and recommendations relating to Maersk’s performance vs. external benchmarks.
  • Manage and ensure all necessary processes and controls are in place to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain close and strong relationship with all stakeholders.

Who we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a relevant degree in Finance or Economics, combined with 3+ years of relevant work experience in a finance function.

You:

  • Are a passionate, self-starting and goal-oriented finance professional.
  • Communicate clearly and engage confidently with leaders at all levels.
  • Possess excellent analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Are well organised and able to prioritise effectively.
  • Are strong in the details but comfortable in explaining key messages in simple terms.
  • Have a flair for building relationships and can exert influence without authority.
  • Possess a strong natural drive for results and excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Have expertise in the use of Excel & PowerPoint. Proficiency in the use of Power BI is a plus.
  • Are fluent in written and spoken English.
