So.. what is that you will actually do?
As a Finance Business Partner, you will work with the Leadership team in Maersk Growth to orchestrate the processes and drumbeat of our business from strategy to execution. Think of it like a chief of staff type of role with a financial and operational flare. Our awesome Investment team source and complete investments supported by our equally cool Portfolio Management team that builds the bridge between Maersk and our portfolio companies. The latest addition to our activities is the Explore team, that pilot with startups around the globe to support Maersk.
You’ll be the pivotal point between our different teams, Maersk and our portfolio, ensuring professional portfolio management, creating financial transparency and having the right processes in place to drive strategic value for Maersk.
You’ll:
- Drive strong Governance across Maersk Growth to ensure transaction data, portfolio valuations and processes are up to date and documented
- Orchestrate our Maersk Growth Operating System to shape how we manage our business from strategy to execution
- Lead all our portfolio reporting on monthly and quarterly cadence supported by our Financial Analyst
- Lead traditional SG&A-efforts to control, follow-up on costs and prepare forecasts
- Facilitate our Quarterly Portfolio Ranking where we review our entire portfolio
- Support our Investment-process where needed and complete our transactions
- Support the Leadership team with analyses, various projects, performance management and annual strategic review (link to their LI posts)
- Lead our small Finance team consisting of Elvinas our awesome Financial Analyst and Jill our cool student assistant
- Be the natural point of contact and sparring partner for Maersk stakeholders on all finance matters.
We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you:
- Have obtained a university degree in finance, controlling, business administration or similar and have more than 7 years’ experience including working with business functions
- Have a mindset eager to learn and share your knowledge in a dynamic environment – knowledge of Venture-investing is not a prerequisite
- Have a numbers-mindset, super structured and a detail-oriented way of working. You like to keep a good overview.
- Have advanced Excel-skills, experience with any BI-tool is a plus
- Are accountable as a person and want to deliver high-quality results – you are not afraid to get your hands dirty and dive in – in fact you like to!
- Love a good challenge and handle ambiguity with a smile
- Must love emojis and skilled at finance dad jokes
