Business analyst for our maritime HR and payroll system

Do you want to help operate a system, which is crucial to our colleagues on board our ships, and can you find a system error before it occurs? Then this role is for you.

As one of our colleagues in the Adonis System team has decided to seek new challenges it leaves a vacancy open for a skilled business analyst, who independently delivers timely, high quality service.

The position is broad with responsibilities in system administration, application support, communication, training and purchases.

ADONIS – A maritime IT system

As a business analyst in the Adonis team you will work with a comprehensive distributed system, used by our officers at sea and administrators on land for HR tasks including HR and payroll such as salary, time registration, certificates, crew planning, etc.

You will work with a diverse group of stakeholders from captains and engineers to payroll staff and backend developers. Soon we will expand and implement the system to be used on more passenger ferries around the business which you will be highly involved in.

Main responsibilities

Together with your team members you’ll take responsibility in the system administration and further implementation of the Adonis system as more vessels are targeted.

You will be responsible for the operation of the system, including troubleshooting and optimization, as well as incident, problem and change handling.

You will upgrade Adonis applications and supervise that data runs smoothly between servers.

You’ll perform 2nd level application support for users, product owners and super users – from forgotten passwords to server problems that can interrupt a whole ship.

Team Spirit

The Adonis team consists of 3 people – two full time and one student worker. Together with team Visma, we form the unit Fulfilment Management – people and finance. Besides our project work, this is a social unit with group activities, dinners, sports events and a positive social vibe, which you will be sure to meet in rest of DFDS as well. The unit is led by manager Brian Nielsen, who is acknowledged for his comprehensive business knowledge, his proactive management style and for his engagement with all team members.

Preferred professional candidate profile

The ideal candidate has experience as business analyst, system administrator and/or experience with implementing a new software system. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.

We imagine that:

  • You possess a good IT technical knowledge and business understanding.

  • You know SQL and can help with minor scripts.

  • You are a strong communicator in Danish and English and can ensure written and oral clarity.

  • You are a facilitator with teaching skills – important when supporting and training users in the system.

  • You can navigate in an environment with many stakeholders

  • You know how to organize yourself and work systematically.

  • You are a social person, who engage yourself with colleagues, customers and collaborators.

  • You have technical mindset and can learn to navigate in a complex HR/salary system.
