We are looking for a Risk Manager to join our Collateral Management Team at Saxo Bank.

The Collateral Management Team is a new team within the counterparty risk team in 1st line of defense. The team will be responsible for ensuring that partners and brokers are prudently collateralized compared to the inherent risk from trading the products offered by Saxo Bank. The department interacts with many different stakeholders within the Bank such as Trading & Market Access, Quants, Financial Risks, Legal, Group Treasury – giving you the opportunity to gain an understanding of several different areas of Saxo Bank.

As a Risk Manager you get an excellent opportunity to be a part of Saxo Bank’s Real-Time Risk Management project. This is a prioritized project, with high ambitions to take risk management to the next level in Saxo Bank, which is important both in supporting the bank’s strategy of growing in the partner space and for improving risk management tools for clients and Saxo Bank.

In this position, you will have a key role in establishing the team and developing the procedures needed to monitor and manage the risk in a proper manner. You will also be responsible for monitoring, quantifying, and managing risks arising from trading and collateralizing the Bank’s different counterparts. You will also be developing new and improved tools and frameworks for managing and collateralizing the banks risks.

Responsibilities in the role


  • Daily managing of Saxo Bank external collateral obligations
  • Daily handling of Collateral issues and margin disputes
  • Project work related to improving Saxo Bank’s risk framework
  • Development and enhancement of the Saxo Bank’s collateral capabilities
  • Engage with and support Sales in implementing/coordinate new collateral initiatives

Your qualifications


  • Master’s degree in Economics, Business or similar
  • Experience from the financial industry and risk / collateral management
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of pricing and market and counterparty risk concepts
  • Solid interest and understanding of financial markets, different financial instruments (FX, Cash Equities, Bonds, CFDs and Options) and the risks inherent to derivatives
  • Strong interest in IT and technology
  • Excel skills is a must, and skills in SQL, R or phyton is a strong advantage
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills in English, as you will engage with our global organization daily
