Group Data Protection & Compliance Manager

As Group Data Protection & Compliance Manager at ISS, you will report to the Group General Counsel and be part of Group Legal. You will have responsibility for the continued development and execution of Group Data Protection initiatives as well as other compliance tasks.
You will be highly visible to senior Group stakeholders and will have the opportunity to impact and shape how ISS will address data protection and other compliance matters globally in the future. In the role you will also have the opportunity to strengthen and emphasize compliance as a value driver for ISS’ customers and employees.
You will cooperate closely with key stakeholders in Group IT, Group People & Culture, Group Internal Audit and Group Risk as well as be part of the Group Data Protection Committee. You will also interact with local Data Protection Managers across the global organization as well as other local, regional and global stakeholders in Legal, Operations and Commercial.
Key responsibilities
The Group Data Protection & Compliance Manager will be the main contact in all GDPR matters and will ensure an adequate data protection governance framework at Group level as well as in countries. The role will also be responsible for the GDPR awareness through communication and training initiatives and for roll-out of effective policies and standards.
In addition, you will also be responsible for day-to-day data protection matters. Your discipline and sense of urgency are important traits to ensure that contractual advice, management of data breaches and data subject access requests and data mapping are handled in a timely and orderly manner.
You will lead and manage through the appointed local data protection managers and other designated compliance colleagues. An experienced Assistant Attorney will assist you part time.
You will drive the data protection agenda through the Group Data Protection Committee and via the Data Protection Manager Forum.
Whilst your primary focus will be on data protection, you will also take part in other compliance related tasks such as the ISS Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption Policy, Competition Law Policy, Speak Up Policy and Escalation Policy. This will be in close collaboration with the Group General Counsel and other Group Legal members.
You have a Master’s Degree in Law (Cand.Jur.) or in Business Administration and Commercial Law (Cand.Merc.Jur.) combined with minimum 5 years of professional GDPR and compliance experience from a group function in an international company or a major law firm. You must have experience with development and implementation of policies and other governance framework such as procedures, guidelines and tools.
You are a strong communicator who can present complex data protection and compliance matters to a wide variety of stakeholders in a clear and simple manner. With a service minded attitude, you are able to build and maintain working relationships on all levels in the organization and externally. The right candidate will have a high work capacity always delivering meticulously and with high integrity.
