Senior Scientist for Materials & Process Interactions team, Global R&D

Join a diverse team of specialists
At our HQ in Humlebæk, Denmark, you will join a team of 10 laboratory technicians and scientists, including chemists, chemical engineers and biomedical engineers. Our team is part of our Global R&D department with more than 150 passionate colleagues, who develop effective solutions within ostomy, continence and wound care. Our goal is to help our end users live the life they want to live.

Contribute to cross-functional development projects
As a senior scientist, you will participate in cross-functional projects that focus on either product or technology development. Doing so, you will collaborate with specialists within e.g. design, adhesives, mechanics, processes, marketing and project management.
With your knowledge of polymers and product development, you will be responsible for material development and selection in the projects. This means that an important part of your role will be to identify material candidates, make modifications or compound new materials to enable new product designs and features based on data-driven analysis. Moreover, you will contribute to material testing together with our laboratory technicians and ensure proper documentation of all development steps.
Initially, you will be working within our wound care area, but you may also be involved in projects within ostomy or continence care. Project involvement will typically last between half a year and several years, and you will normally work on 1-2 projects at a time.

Not only are you able to use your expertise to challenge the ideas of others, you also know how to translate your technical knowledge across fields of expertise, which allows others to integrate your input into their own work.
Finally, as we are working in R&D where time to market is often pivotal, it is important that you feel comfortable working with sometimes tight deadlines and balancing between product and technology development.

Apply your experience with polymers and material selection
- You have 5+ years of practical experience with polymers and material selection
- You have solid experience with statistical analysis
- You have a strong technical background, perhaps with a Master of Science or a PhD in chemical engineering, chemistry, material science or a similar field
- It is an advantage if you have knowledge of or experience with the medical device industry
- You have good product documentation skills
- You communicate effortlessly in English
