Key responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Market Research Manager, reporting to the Head of Projects - Chartering and working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
You will take on a key role in developing and refining our container market knowledge and outlook. Specific responsibilities include:
- Help to build and develop a Charter Market Forecast tool (combining supply/demand market dynamics), enabling data driven decisions for our chartered fleet both for short and long term planning
- Prepare regular weekly, monthly and quarterly market and forecast reports to be shared within our organization
- Analyze and interpret in house historical data, using statistical software techniques and provide inputs for trends and patterns
Simply put, through the best possible business analysis, models and reports, you help provide new and valuable market insights for our Chartering Department and support their decisions in a very complex market.
This will also help delivering the expected Ocean capacity and the Company Decarbonization targets for the chartered fleet.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a committed and independent colleague who is highly organized and structured. You have an improvement mindset and look forward to developing the depth and breadth of our research products– both what we do, and how we deliver it.
Moreover, we imagine that you:
- Have a 5-10 years’ working experience in market research, ideally within the container business
- Have strong IT skills and quantitative skills (statistical forecasting) and knowledge of other programming languages (such as SQL, Phyton, and VBA) is a strong advantage
- Have ability to manage large datasets
- Are familiar with forecast modelling, including regression models data collection and analysis and have excellent analytical skills
- Have excellent communication skills or both in writing and in person and have excellent presentation skills
- Hold a Master’s degree or higher in macroeconomics, international trade, Finance or Statistics
- Are fluent in spoken and written English. Danish is not required.
All in all, you will thrive in this role because you have a natural ability to combine numbers and detailed market knowledge into crisp market analysis that you communicate clearly and effortlessly to internal audiences. As such, you are part of a rare breed that combines great analytical ability with commercial acumen.
