You will be based at our office in Copenhagen and some international travel must be expected.
Key Responsibilities:
As Operations Manager you will be responsible for managing operational matters, crises and incidents for all the Maersk’s time-chartered vessels.
There is an expectation to envision and improve the end-to-end contract management, reliability and safety impact of any vessel and owner group.
The Operations Manager shall be the Key Point of Contact within Maersk with a certain number of vessel owners assigned to them.
Operations manager shall support our delivery promise to our customers ensuring safe, reliable and timely delivery of their cargo.
Other key tasks:
- Manages legal issues/actions where needed for Maersk’s time-chartered vessels
- Manages safety and reliability issues onboard the vessels with the assistance of our in-house tools and Subject Matter Experts
- Manages time-chartered compensation for off hires, claims and other financial matters for all time-chartered vessels
- Acts as internal and external entry point for operational issues for all time-chartered vessels
- Manages time-chartered expenses for all time-chartered vessels in accordance with the charter party
- Responsible for phase-in and phase-out (delivery/redelivery) for all time-chartered vessels
- Responsible for briefing the organization on operational matters as appropriate for all time-chartered vessels to ensure minimal service and customer impact
- Own and lead the owners engagement process for the owners assigned, with few visits per year to engage with owners.
Who we are looking for:
The daily follow-up with Owners associated with above tasks will in many cases require first-hand operational qualifications to ensure we positively challenge our stakeholders professionally and efficiently.
You have actual – and extensive – operational, technical and/or nautical vessel experience.
You can quickly establish a network and prove yourself as credible and respected throughout the organization and you are able to work with multiple stakeholders and cultures and interact with people of all functions and at all levels.
You are a resilient team player who is goal-orientated and demonstrates a high level of commitment and thrive in an international environment. You want to challenge and develop yourself.
The right candidate is self-driven and motivated and willing/able to influence without formal authority and you have a high level of self-confidence based on solid preparation and investigation.
You have strong communication and stakeholder management skills, preferably with vessel owners / technical managers
You are able to contemplate resourcefully and anticipate scenarios on Charter vessels that can lead to a disruption in service and take the right step to minimize risk.
