Advisor, coach, penetration tester, teacher and troubleshooter
As Principal Security Engineer you are a combined advisor and technical sparring partner for the colleagues in our many software development teams (feature teams). You will unfold your skills across security architecture and design – in fact everything in the span between software development and security including network security, platform security, authentication/authorization systems, application security, security architecture, policy enforcement, and security frameworks.
The overall idea is to enable our developer colleagues to think security as a natural part of every development process with us as coaches and goal keepers. As such, you will interact widely as expert across R&D that counts approx. 150 highly skilled Software Development Engineers. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Help Software Engineers build secure products and services
- Provide technical expertise and advice on all areas of security technology
- Provide security guidance and training to Software Engineer colleagues
- Use penetration testing skills and methodology to strengthen our internal and external applications and services
- Develop scripts, tools, or methodologies to enhance the vulnerability assessment and penetration testing processes
- Perform application security design and threat modeling
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Act as expert and troubleshooter if a security event/incident occurs
You will naturally also have to stay on top of the trends and tools in the international hacker environment in order to detect new attack vectors.
5+ years of experience within software security
Your “customers” are highly skilled software developers with some security knowledge – and not to forget strong opinions on what is right to do. To succeed and establish yourself as principal security expert, you must be able to display solid technical knowledge in combination with the right attitude. Key words are dialogue and decisions backed by facts. Additionally, your CV comprises:
- Degree at minimum BSc level in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Technical knowledge of hacking and penetration testing techniques, methodologies, and tools across all common platforms
- Previous experience in security testing, threat modeling and analyzing applications
- Strong understanding of network and application security, cryptographic primitives, and authentication mechanisms
- Experience with one or more scripting and programming language like Python, Bash, PowerShell, and C++/C#
- Motivation for acquiring security certifications such as OSCP, CEH, CISSP, CSSLP, SSCP or similar – if you do not have those already
- Skills within and motivation for acting as coach / teacher / trainer
- Good English skills, written and spoken

Your will join three highly dedicated security geeks at the Milestone HQ in Brøndby, Copenhagen.
