The position
The function is responsible for developing architecture blueprints and roadmaps for technology enabling Research & Early Development (R&ED) that are aligned to our business capabilities and strategic aspirations. Further, the function is responsible for aligning technology projects to the roadmaps and providing guidance on their implementation.
Your responsibilities will include:
The Senior Director is responsible for building and leading the Scientific Architecture department. The role has overall responsibility for R&ED architecture, for ensuring sufficient competencies and capacity to build relevant architectures, and for communicating their content to key stakeholders up to EVP level. Further, the role manages organizational design, structure, development, training and planning within the area.
The candidate will have deep knowledge technology developments and trends and will bring those insights to Novo Nordisk. The candidate must collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Novo Nordisk to articulate the architecture approach and vision. Key stakeholders include colleagues in R&ED, Development Sciences, and Global IT.

You will be part of the Data Management & Informatics (DMI) department, where we are responsible for providing scientific data and software products to support the global research and early development organisation at Novo Nordisk. Our work spans driving digitalisation of laboratories, enabling scientific data capture, creating harmonized data for analytics, and providing informatics tools. We enable disruptive innovation and data driven decision making across areas that include disease understanding, molecular design, portfolio management and external scouting. We have a strong focus on employee engagement, and on developing and retaining talent.

The position

- Select and advocate for use of preferred technologies and platforms
- Accelerate adoption of Cloud and big data technologies
- Provide technical guidance during project design and implementation
- Drive community building in areas of strategic importance

- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience from life science, health care or technology industry
- Strong communication skills
