We are looking for a Laboratory Technician for a one-year temporary position to support our early research pipeline. The position is within the Gut Biology department, which is part of Global Drug Development and located in Måløv, North-west of Copenhagen.
About the department
The Gut Biology department is part of the Liver Disease Research area with primary focus on establishing new cellular in vitro models and testing new drug candidates. We contribute to many different research activities and projects, and we are responsible for delivering high quality data and input to drive the projects forward. For this purpose, we apply state-of-the-art equipment and collaborate closely with other departments within the cardiometabolic disease area.
In the department, we are four Scientists, four Technicians, and a student committed to the discovery of new and improved therapeutics within diabetes care. The working atmosphere is characterised by an open, cheerful, and informal tone. With a multitude of different nationalities in the team, both working and social language is English.

The position
As a Laboratory Technician, you will:
- Participate in the in vitro characterisation and development of new therapeutics for diabetes care.
- Be employing a variety of analytical techniques such as immunostaining, advanced confocal live cell imaging, purification of DNA/RNA, and qPCR by working with primary cell types and cultured cell lines.
- Plan and conduct experiments in the laboratory and take active part in data handling and analysis in collaboration with a scientist. The results of the analyses conducted will be reported in English using electronic notebooks.
Ultimately, your work will contribute to the improvement of the quality of life for millions of people with diabetes or other cardiometabolic diseases around the world.
Qualifications
- You have an education as Laboratory Technician or similar and preferably experience within research.
- Experience with cell cultures, cellular assays and methods such as immunostaining and imaging is considered an advantage.
- It is important that you have solid experience with Windows-based programs since data handling and evaluation is part of the job.
- You can communicate in English on a professional level both written and verbally.
