The position
Your main responsibility as laboratory technician in Purification technologies will be to ensure delivery of fit for purpose purified recombinant peptides and proteins to research projects with the purpose of identifying new lead candidates for clinical development. You will be working with scientists and other laboratory technicians in the department and together you secure fast and efficient laboratory scale purification methods and delivery of purified peptides and proteins according to needs using state of the art chromatography systems, membrane technology, liquid handlers and analytical equipment. An important part of the job will be to report and document your work and results in our electronic . to take responsibility for the operation and maintenance of some of the equipment in the department. Depending on experience level you are expected to be able to work independently hands-on in the laboratory and learn from other members in the department.
Qualifications
You have an education as Laboratory Technician or similar with several years’ experience from working with protein purification in pharmaceutical research or similar industrial research settings working with purification of proteins and peptides. To succeed in this position, you have:
• Profound experience with preparative column chromatography.
• Hands on experience with ÄKTA purification systems and Unicorn control software.
• Experience with basic analytical methods including SE-UPLC/RP-UPLC/LC-MS and data analyses
• Prior experience with multiple molecular formats is considered an advantage
• Ability takes on digital challenges, systems and software.
• A continuous improvement mind-set. On a personal level, you are an inclusive team-player and can communicate clearly and precisely to co-workers and stakeholders. You have a curious and self-driven personality, with a positive attitude towards challenges and can thrive in an informal and highly dynamic working environment.
The level of the position will be dependent on competencies and prior experience About the department
The Purification Technologies department currently counts 20 highly engaged scientists and technicians. The department belongs to the Recombinant Technologies CVP area in Global Research Technologies (GRT) and is situated outside Copenhagen in Måløv, Denmark. We are engaged in early research projects using state-of-the-art technology to deliver purified proteins and peptides from recombinant expressions carried out in sister departments for the development of lead molecules and selection for clinical development. In this context, the department is responsible for the purification of challenging tool proteins, platform-based automated purifications as well as highly customized purification of engineered variant molecules in milligram to gram scale quantities. In addition, the department also supports cell line development and is responsible for developing the initial purification process suited for transfer to our CMC colleagues. Working at Novo Nordisk
