Would you like to be part of a transformative journey as VP of Clinical Development, Medical Affairs and Regulatory Affairs (CMR) for the new Region North West Europe (NWE)? We are looking for an experienced medical doctor to drive the Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR) strategy for the Region North West Europe. This is a key leadership role with significant people and strategic scope and direct reporting line to the Senior Vice President, Frederik Kier, for Novo Nordisk Region North West Europe.

About the department
Region North West Europe was established 1 April 2020 and is one of the largest regions in International Operations (IO). The Region consists of 14 markets of which 7 report directly to the regional office based in Copenhagen and 6 report to Business Area North West Europe Mid-Size. As a Region we remain as strong growth driver. With a unique and mature market and a great advantage of being in the first waves of new product launches and entering into the new therapeutic areas globally, this is a very important role to help brining the most innovative products to the market and to be a pioneer and role model to many other markets.

Our 1600 dedicated colleagues go to work every day across our region to improve the lives of people with diabetes and other chronic diseases across Region North West Europe. The CMR department is a dynamic unit, with a diverse and high performing team who works in close collaboration with our commercial colleagues in the brand teams. As head of CMR Region North West Europe, you get the opportunity to shape the direction in all three areas as well as having a broad variety of interactions with key internal and external stakeholders in the organisation.

The position
You will through your matrix team of CMR Directors in the North West Europe countries, inspire, lead and develop a matrix organization of Clinical, Medical & Regulatory professionals across the region.The focus for the next few years will be to continue the journey of building the necessary capabilities and mindset of our CMR professionals while continuously improving the impact of CMR to transform patient standards-of-care in our countries.

You will be the chair of North West Europe Regional PDP forum to bring our markets’ needs to NN product development plan. You will be aligned to the business strategy to shape the external healthcare environment and ensure that our CMR organization actively contributes to the strong value story of our company and our brands. With the North West Europe countries being among the first to launch markets, you will together with global stakeholders drive the necessary capability building that allows us to prepare for successful entry into future therapy areas of Novo Nordisk.

Furthermore, you will ensure representation of the Region in relevant regional and global boards and meetings.You will continuously act as the bridge between the scientific and the commercial stakeholders both internally and externally, as well as being a key spokesperson for the company with outstanding knowledge of our company and our heritage.

You will be part of the Region North West Europe leadership team and IO CMR Leadership team and you will be based in Copenhagen. For you to perform successfully in this senior and high impact leadership role, you must have extensive & proven expertise in organizational leadership and have the ability to work effectively & seamlessly in the matrix while embracing ambiguity and complexity. You will have very strong managerial, functional competencies and skills, and will possess the ability to work in organizations where competing priorities - in an extremely dynamic and positively challenging environment - is a natural part of everyday life.

Qualifications
•Master’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of Pharmaceutical business experience, with 5-10 years of leadership experience including 3-5 years of senior leadership working in a global matrix organization, as part of the senior management team

•Medical Affairs background including a demonstrated ability to build and nurture strong relationships with top KOL’s in our therapy areas. Likewise, you will have demonstrated proven leadership competences in Clinical Medical & Regulatory Affairs

•Experience in relevant key therapy areas and/or key strategic pipeline areas (Diabetes, Obesity, Cardiovascular, Hemostasis, Growth Hormone, NASH)

•Demonstrated strong leadership and business partnering skills, a genuine interest & curiosity to understand the business and where CMR can optimally support the company’s agenda at all stages of the brand life cycle

•Curious and open-minded with a keenness to consider diverse perspectives and try proactive and innovative ways of doing things

•Strong communication, influencing & negotiation skills to establish networks and build relationships with internal & external stakeholders

•Ability to work & deliver across countries & cultures, with experience of working in several other cultures than your own

•Willingness to travel extensively

•Humble, approachable and someone who truly understands the affiliate life and was preferably working in an affiliate during their career

•Dynamic and solution-oriented approach and a natural authority with the ability to empower and engage people to perform at their best
