Are you looking for the opportunity to improve patient’s lives and leave your footprint? Do you have experience in Medical Affairs at a multinational level, across regions and independently driving broad strategies and tactics for scientific development? If yes, then we have the perfect opportunity for you as our Senior Medical Director for Diabetes. The position As the Senior Medical Director Diabetes, you will set the direction and medical strategy for the therapy area across the Region SEEMEA (South East Europe, Middle East Africa). You will lead and coach indirect reports across the affiliates, drive performance and change management as we broaden our commitment in diabetes, whilst successfully navigating a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape. Your responsibilities will also include: Driving medical activities and business partnering with the affiliates to ensure optimal medical contribution to identified business opportunities. Providing medical expertise and leadership to co-create with commercial and other relevant functions processes and projects to realize overall business opportunities. Ensuring that colleagues across the Region maximise the utilisation of Diabetes attributes to support current and future brands. Together with Medical Excellence, ensuring that the medical organizations across Region SEEMEA works according to highest standards of medical excellence. Working in close collaboration with HQ and International Operations (IO) to build medical capabilities in SEEMEA. Qualifications You hold a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree and have gained a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience focused in diabetes, either from pharmaceutical industry or medical practice. During your time working in the pharmaceutical industry, you have gained expert understanding of the role of medical affairs, medical affairs tools and activities. You bring a strong network within the medical and scientific community within the diabetes space and are able to engage in high-level, scientific discussion with high-profile internal and external audiences. Your experience working in an international, matrix environment enables you to effectively interact with and influence colleagues across functions, including clinical operations, regulatory affairs, marketing and market access. You have a strong understanding of drug development principles and have a fair understanding of the regulatory environment for the approval of new drugs with major regulatory agencies.
