Apply today for a life-changing career. The position Clinical Operations Rare Disease & Advanced Therapies consists of around 130 employees organised in 7 departments. This position is for a Director to head up the department conducting clinical trials within rare bleeding disorders and cell therapies. Our presence within rare bleeding disorders is well established, ambitious and innovative whereas cell therapy is a new and pioneering area for [xxxxx] where we are working on bringing potential curative stem cell-based therapy to patients living with Parkinson’s Disease. As Director in Clinical Operations, you will:
  • Lead and develop an engaged and skilled team of Clinical Project and Operations Leaders, Global Trial Managers and Global Clinical Trial Administrators. Taking on this role is a unique opportunity to make an impact in a large, global development organisation.
  • Be responsible for the global coordination of several clinical trials within one or more development programmes. Further, you will be a member of one or more Global Project Teams representing Clinical Operations and being accountable for accomplishing clinical trials through the operational strategy. Additionally, you will be responsible for the planning and allocation of the needed resources for several trials within the clinical programme.
  • Ensure competency development and performance management by coaching and guiding your team members, setting expectations, and leading the team to success.
  • Lead the implementation of the Clinical Drug Development strategy, proactively ensure relevant change management activities and role model the [xxxxx] Way.
    • The job is based in Søborg, Denmark. Some travelling can be expected. Qualifications To succeed in this role:
  • You hold a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Science and have several years of experience working with clinical drug development.
  • You have previous experience with line management and project management. It is also expected that you have experience with the operational aspects of planning and conducting global clinical trials.
  • You are familiar with cross-organisational and global work and can navigate well in a project-driven matrix organisation.
  • It is expected that you can inspire and motivate employees to do their best while having an organized and structured approach to leading employees. Preferably, you can navigate well during organisational transformations.
    • As our corporate language is English, you must have a good command of the English language. About the department Rare disease isn’t so rare. Collectively they affect over 30 million people in Europe and around 350 million people across the globe. Although there are more than 7,000 different rare diseases, most of them share similar characteristics: they are often chronic, lifelong genetic conditions (72%) with childhood onset (70%) and no cure. That result in decreased quality of life and a reduced life expectancy. At the same time there is diagnostic delay, lack of coordination of care and poor patient access to treatment. [xxxxx] has for many years been pioneers in rare bleeding disorders (such as haemophilia), and rare endocrine disorders (such as growth hormone deficiency). We have leadership positions within our fields, and we keep expanding into more indications and new therapeutic areas. We currently have several ongoing Phase 1-4 trials within Rare Blood and Endocrine Disorders. In addition, we are responsible for the clinical execution of the [xxxxx] stem cell portfolio. Today we span over various technologies such as proteins, monoclonal antibodies, cells, and gene therapy as current platforms. Our trials have a strong patient focus which is ensured by actively engaging with patients, patient organisations, study nurses and everyday medical experts in the clinical field. We use advanced innovative trial designs, with modern digital and decentralised ways to collect clinical data.
