Business Development Manager, Consumer Health Care


We are looking for a commercially strong and structured Business Development Manager (BDM) with excellent communication and personal skills to help us deliver our ambitious growth strategy. This position will have significant impact on the future of Fertin as we continue our growth journey into new categories within both pharma- and nutraceuticals with existing as well as new customers.

The BDM will be part of Fertin’s business development team, where each individual is managing his or her own project portfolio. Therefore, to succeed in this role, the BDM must master all aspects of the business development process from identifying and generating leads, over project scoping and business case building, to negotiating contracts and handover to Key Account Management. The BDM must be capable of communicating with all organizational levels internally and externally. A positive, energetic and winning attitude is critical to succeed in this job as well as strong business acumen and profound understanding of the importance of team-work as you will have many touch points across the organization. Travel days 25-50. You will report to the Business Development Director.

Main Responsibilities:

The role requires a high sense of quality and a challenger driven mind-set. Your main responsibilities will be:

  1. Identify, analyze, and build relationships with potential new business partners
  2. Identify opportunities with potential new business partners and evaluate these for fit with Fertin’s strategy
  3. Prepare and present business cases incl. financial modelling and recommendations to management through Fertin’s stage gate process
  4. Lead negotiation of new product development, supply and license agreements
  5. Following signing of supply agreements, hand over to Key Account Management for execution.

Required Experience & competencies:

Your background will include a relevant education. You have worked 5+ years within business development in a regulated environment with large international customers, and you have a strong track record in generating new business. Experience within the Health Care industry, e.g VMS and or OTC, is a clear advantage.

Additionally the position requires the following personal qualities: You are a team player, self-motivated, result-oriented, persistent, and you are a disciplined and structured executer with strong communication skills. You are analytically strong, good with numbers and take responsibility of your area. You must be able to speak and write fluently in English.
