Business Development Director
We have ambitious plans to grow our NRT business in existing markets, with further expansion in emerging markets. To support these aspirations, we are looking for a new Business Development Director, reporting to the Vice President of BD, Sales and Marketing. You’ll be responsible for driving the NRT category forward and executing significant parts of the strategy. As such you will be accountable for your own project portfolio.
To succeed in this role, you’ll be able to work with all aspects of the business development process. This includes identifying and evaluating potential partners, developing projects and contracts, negotiation and implementation.
There is flexibility around where you are based, and you should expect to travel between 25 - 50 days per year.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identify and secure external opportunities for concept/product development as well as out-license and supply, working in close collaboration with Marketing and R&D colleagues.
- Establish, prioritize and build relationships with potential new business partners.
- Evaluate leads and opportunities according to the strategy and business targets.
- Prepare and present business cases including financial modelling and provide recommendations through a structured stage gate process.
- Lead the negotiation of new product development, supply and license agreements, in close cooperation across all functions.
- Following signing of agreements, ensure that terms are implemented and respected by the relevant stakeholders, internally and externally, in close collaboration with Key Account Managers and other functions.
- Handle and resolve issues that might escalate during the execution of agreements.
- Support potential mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, working closely with our business leaders and financial and legal teams.
- Chair the NRT strategy steering group.
Required experience & competencies
You’ll have excellent negotiating and influencing skills and be able to communicate at all levels with fluency in English.
You’ll think commercially, with a high level of business acumen, and have extensive experience with business development and B2B sales from a similar industry. Previous involvement in supporting mergers and acquisitions is an advantage, as too is familiarity of working with CDMO’s.
You will be highly motivated with a winning attitude and strong stakeholder management skills. Furthermore, you have a good strategic and analytical understanding as well as an international mindset.
