Formulation and process expertise with small molecules
We work in cross-functional project teams and you will join one or more development projects.
In detail you will be expected to:
Be involved in our projects from phase 2a clinical trials until two years after launch, where you will bring expert formulation and process know-how into play in a project specific manner Have flair and interest for lab equipment and hands-on development activities in our newly established tablet lab as well as topical development labs Organise daily work in the laboratory or manage outsourced projects, i.e. plan, execute and report formulation development, process development and scale-up trials using Quality by Design principles Transfer technology to LEO manufacturing sites or CMOs for manufacture of clinical trial medication or commercialisation Prepare CMC documentation for regulatory filings
Experienced profile with passion and drive
We are looking for a highly motivated senior scientist with strong understanding of oral solid dosage form development. You have a proven track record of impacting late stage development projects and Quality by Design is integrated in your way of working.
You have thorough experience with technology transfer as we work closely with partners, internal manufacturing sites and clinical CMOs. You are also experienced in writing regulatory documentation.
You are curious and ready to challenge yourself with other drug forms as well as novel process types as LEO Pharma’s pipeline consists of projects utilising innovative technologies, e.g. sprays, besides more well-known ones within semi-solids and orals. Experience with paediatric product development and comparators would be advantageous.
You have a natural ability and desire to communicate and collaborate across disciplines and across sites.
In our R&D environment it is important that you have a decisive, flexible and open mindset as well as a structured and solution-oriented approach. You hold an MSc and preferably a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences or related disciplines and with significant and relevant experience from the pharmaceutical industry.

You will join 10 colleagues in the department Late Formulation & Process Development located in LEO Pharma’s headquarter in Ballerup, Denmark. Our focus is to impact and support the late stage oral and topical small molecule development projects in LEO Pharma. The atmosphere is open and informal with enthusiastic and dedicated people. We are driven by courage, trust and mutual respect and helpfulness – and not to forget having a good time together.
