Can you take a leading role across bioanalysis of biologics and biomarkers?
If you have solid experience across bioanalytical assays and biomarkers, and you are looking for a job with major freedom to perform and massively impact in a cross-functional project driven environment, we have the perfect job for you. LEO Pharma has set the very ambitious goal to become the world’s preferred dermatology care partner. To make this come true we are expanding our pipeline rapidly primarily with biologics, and that is why we need you to unfold all of your knowledge and ideas.
Bioanalytical assays and biomarkers in collaboration with CRO’s
As Principal Scientist in our Preclinical Development team you will have two main focus areas, namely bioanalytical assays and biomarkers – and you will become your team’s primary expert within biomarkers. At LEO we use CROs to handle development of drugs meaning that your role is to set up, lead and monitor studies at CROs, rather than being in the lab conducting experiments on your own. Your primary tasks will be to:
- Plan, set up, coordinate and monitor method development and validation of bioanalytical methods and biomarkers at CROs – for TK/PK and immunogenicity assessment in toxicology species and in humans
- Initiate and monitor ongoing bioanalysis in animal studies and clinical trials and review reports from same studies and trials
- Participate in project teams as the Preclinical Development representative
The studies are conducted in conformity with the requirements of the authorities and conducted according to GLP/GCP when necessary.
Biological degree and solid experience across bioanalytical assays and biomarkers
You have a university degree in biological sciences e.g. biology, biochemistry, as MD or pharmacist. This is backed by minimum 10 years’ experience of which at least 5 must be from the pharma industry where you have worked hands on with cross-functional and cross-organizational projects. As such, you bring solid expertise from working with bioanalysis in a GLP/GCP driven environment where you have handled preparation of documents such as IB, CTA, IND etc.
To succeed, you must thrive in an organisation where the only constant is change and where you will not find manuals and SOP’s for everything you do – we trust you to make the right decisions. As you will have multiple contacts internally and externally you will need an open minded approach towards different ways of working as well as towards different cultural and professional backgrounds. You like to share knowledge and win as a team yet you are not afraid to take lead on your own, e.g. as the department’s representative in major projects.
Your new team
You will join 8 highly skilled Scientists in Preclinical Development at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen and 1 experienced Scientist based in Tokyo. We are two Scientists specialised in bioanalysis and seven Toxicologists. We work in an informal and friendly atmosphere characterised by trust and helpfulness.

Please apply at our website. The deadline is 14 October 2020. If you have any questions, you are very welcome to contact Jakob Back, Director, Preclinical Development, R&D at +45 5389 5153.
