Ballerup
Do you want to excel in analytical chemistry and to support the entire organisation from Research through Development to Production?
Then this is your chance to join one of the world’s leading companies within dermatology and to make your contribution to our mission of improving the quality of life for millions of patients around the world. Working within Global Research and Development in LEO Pharma you will participate in developing innovative drugs for the treatment of skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema and support the whole LEO Pharma portfolio.
Throughout the entire lifecycle of medicinal products, a vital part of succeeding is being able to provide the company with substantial data and conclusions. We achieve this through use of advanced analytical techniques and by developing fit-for-purpose methods. We have an ambition to excel in this and that is why we need your technical competences, hands-on skills and analytical thinking.
Focus on small molecule separation and solid state techniques
You will immediately take an active, operational role in supporting a variety of internal customers ranging from Research to Global Supply. Here you will get to use your skills within advanced analytical chemistry to their full extent. In detail you will be expected to:
Be an integral part of our dedicated team performing both core drug development activities as well as investigative analyses (as part of trouble shooting support to other departments). Provide skills (including hands-on experience) within various hyphenated separation techniques (primarily LC and GC coupled with UV and MS). To identify and characterise synthesis impurities and degradation products in active substances, excipients and drug products. Provide skills within the field of solid state characterization. I.e. having experience with one or several of the following techniques: X-ray techniques (XRPD, SXRD and XRF), Thermal analysis (DSC and TGA), Optical spectroscopy (UV-vis, IR and Raman) and Microscopic methods. Manage external partners with regard to CRO evaluation, work package description, and tech transfer – as outsourcing is key when special capabilities are needed or in-house resources are limited and timelines are short. Be capable in running experiments, performing troubleshooting and managing simple equipment maintenance of the instruments in the laboratory - by yourself. Write analytical documentation addressed to the health authorities, within this field. Play an active role in the strengthening of the team within statistics and chemometrics - with the aim of supporting AQbD and setting up models in areas such as polymorphic purity, imaging - and quantitative methods in general.
Analytical profile with passion and drive
We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and ambitious scientist with an outgoing spirit and a flexible mindset. You have a proven track record of demonstrating skills within analytical chemistry from university and preferably also from industry. A background within the pharmaceutical industry, analysing drug substances and drug formulations, is preferred. You hold a PhD in chemical sciences or related disciplines.
To help us succeed in our ambitions, we need you to have a logical and analytical way of thinking, a familiarity with - and flair for - working with various software and a strong desire to communicate, collaborate and impact across disciplines.
Analytical Support – your new team
You will be joining 10 colleagues including a Ph.D. student in the department, Analytical Support – 7 scientists and 3 technicians. Our mission is to impact and support the entire organisation with scientific expertise within NMR, solid state properties and different separation techniques combined with mass spectrometry. The work atmosphere is open and informal with enthusiastic and dedicated people in an innovative culture. We are driven by courage, trust and mutual respect and helpfulness – and not to forget having a good time together.
You may look forward to a work experience where your professional competences will be put to use and with ample opportunities for further personal development. We are looking forward to getting you on board on our journey towards helping people achieve healthy skin.
