The Research Unit of General Practice in Esbjerg invites applications for a full-time position as senior researcher in the field of general practice.

Research profile and tasks

With the new senior researcher, the Research Unit of General Practice in Esbjerg wants to strengthen epidemiological research in primary care. Patient trajectories in healthcare systems including patient transitions between health care sectors will be a special focus area. The successful candidate must be a researcher experienced in basic or primary care epidemiology holding a strong publication record demonstrating research collaboration with researchers in different fields, having experience in applying external funding, teaching, and supervision.

The position will be located at the Research Unit of General Practice in Esbjerg located at Sydvestjysk Sygehus. Danish is not required initially however, must be mastered within the first two years of employment.

Research qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a PhD, prove significant teaching and supervising experience, and demonstrate significant research through publications. Applicants demonstrating advanced epidemiological research skills will be preferred.

Teaching commitments

The candidate will also participate in the units teaching tasks including supervision of students, pursuing their master’s and PhD degrees.

• A motivation letter
• A detailed CV
• Degree certificates (i.e., PhD- or DMSc-diploma)
• A complete and numbered list of publications
• 10 scientific peer-reviewed publications considered by the applicant to be the most important for this position. Please notice that one pdf-file must be attached for each publication.
• A teaching portfolio detailing the candidate’s prior teaching experience and skills
• A research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work.

The application deadline is 19th February 2023.

The candidate is expected to start from 1st May 2023or as soon as possible.
