The Management and Economics of Resources and the Environment Group (MERE) at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences invites applications for a Postdoc with a focus on “Scalable energy conversion and storage devices in energy systems transition.” The Postdoc position is part of the new cross-disciplinary SDU Climate Cluster Elite center for ‘Solar Energy Conversion and Storage (SOLEN)’. The position is located at the SDU campus in Esbjerg, Denmark. The starting date is Sept 1st, 2023, or as soon as possible thereafter, for a 2-year period.
What we offer
The Postdoc position(s) is a part of the new SDU Climate Cluster (SCC) Elite center SOLEN, which aims to design, develop, and bring forward new sustainable solar energy conversion and storage technologies using a strongly cross-disciplinary approach. For this position, the activities focus on developing and implementing a combined portfolio and life-cycle analysis approach to evaluating hurdles, opportunities, and impacts from new energy technologies across systemic scales.
The majority of your working time is devoted to your own research studies. As a Postdoc you are expected to develop your own ideas and communicate scientific results in English. Upon mutual agreement, there may be some teaching responsibilities (including supervision) and minor administration within the research group. Although not required, it is positive when postdocs contribute to knowledge exchange by, inter alia, dissemination of research and participating in the public debate. Applications for Postdocs are evaluated by internal committee.
The successful applicant will be a member of the MERE group at the Faculty of Business and Social Sciences. A more elaborated description of the research group and related centers can be found on the website. In addition to an international faculty focused on excellence in research and teaching in social sciences, the group has a strong commitment to interdisciplinary methods and approaches both within social sciences and across faculties. The research group also has close relevant ties with three centers: The European Center for Risk & Resilience Studies, the Center for Rural Research, and the Danish Centre for Risk and Safety Management (joint with Aalborg University).
It is the aim of the group to conduct research of the highest international standard documented through 1) publications in internationally distinguished journals, 2) presentations at international conferences, 3) external funding from competitive programs and 4) dissemination with high visibility and broad societal impact.
