Two attractive positions as a pharmacoepidemiologists at Copenhagen Phase IV Unit (Phase4CPH) are now available. We are looking for new colleagues who enjoy working with data and find it exciting to generate clinically relevant and warranted evidence on the safety and effectiveness of drugs.

We are looking for both an experienced researcher and a less experienced researcher! We have many exciting projects underway, and therefore we are expanding.

Phase4CPH is part of Bispebjerg and Frederiksberg Hospital and a collaboration between Center for Clinical Research and Prevention (CCRP) and the Department of Clinical Pharmacology. We are located at Frederiksberg Hospital. Phase4CPH uses pharmacoepidemiology to perform phase IV studies based on real-world data. The unit currently consists of 12 dedicated and highly motivated researchers with various academic backgrounds including epidemiology, public health, statistics, medicine, biology, and pharmacy. Moreover, we have a close collaboration with our in-house data scientists. Our studies are performed in cooperation with health authorities and the pharmaceutical industry, but we also prioritize researcher-initiated projects. The projects taken on by Phase4CPH vary in size and complexity, and you must be able to work independently as well as in close collaboration with other team members. We have peak work periods in connection with deadlines, however, in general we are a workplace with a flexible organization of tasks.

Your tasks will be

• Analysis and data management of various research projects, mainly registry-based studies

• Writing and publishing scientific articles in collaboration with colleagues and external partners

• Writing and submitting reports to the authorities

• Side-by-side training and guidance of colleagues in the management, analysis and interpretation of data

• Designing new studies, writing protocols, and applying for data access

In addition, you will have the opportunity to teach, present our research, supervise student projects, and pursue academic development by participating in study groups, courses, and conferences.

Qualifications

For the younger researcher we are looking for a college who has

• A master's degree in medicine, pharmaceutics, economics, statistics, or equivalent

• Good collaboration and communication skills

• Some experience with scientific writing

• Some experience with data handling and programming

• Expertise in statistical methods in health science issues

• Is highly motivated to develop new skills

For the experienced researcher we will give priority to the following competences

• Research experience equivalent to a PhD degree

• Experience in writing scientific articles

• Knowledge of (pharmaco-)epidemiological methods

• Knowledge of clinical pharmacology

• An interest in participating in strategic considerations with external partners

• Experience in working with national (and Nordic) healthcare registries

• Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, drug development, and/or regulatory affairs

• Well-versed programming skills: we work primarily in SAS, but other code languages are relevant as well

About the Center for Clinical Research and Prevention

In the Center for Clinical Research and Prevention (CCRP) at Frederiksberg Hospital you become part of an active research environment with good colleagues and an informal working environment. CCRP’s ambition is to contribute to a healthier and better treated population. We are a strong research center with approx. 120 employees divided into four research sections with a high degree of interdisciplinarity, including nurses, biologists, public health candidates, engineers, doctors, statisticians, and data managers. About the Department of Clinical Pharmacology

The Department of Clinical Pharmacology, physically located at Bispebjerg Hospital, has 55 employees and services the entire Capital Region by delivering courses and expert counseling regarding rational pharmacotherapy. Moreover, the department conducts a broad range of research projects and has extensive experience within pharmacoepidemiology.

Terms of employment

The positions are full time (37 hours a week). Salary and terms of employment in accordance with agreement between the Capital Region (Region Hovedstaden) wage and tariff board and your union.
