Applications are invited for a position as Postdoc psychologist at the Research Unit of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center, Mental Health Services – Capital Region of Denmark.
Projects reflect Translational Psychiatry and involve forms of neuro-imaging, neuropsychological investigations and potentially treatment studies at the Research Unit, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Center (BUC), Gentofte. The focus of the Translational Psychiatry research projects is to determine utility of machine learning determined markers of neuropsychological and neuroimaging function as indices of adolescent psychiatric patient health.
The position is scheduled to commence in March 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter, and it is initially limited to 3 years.
Job description and qualification requirements
We are looking for a psychologist who wants to continue a research career after obtaining a PhD.
The applicant is expected to have experience with working with children or adolescents and to be able to work independently and competently with basic statistics. The applicant is expected to have good English.
You will be employed in the Research Unit at the Child and Adolescent Psychology Centre, Capital Region Psychiatry. Your primary function will be to help develop, test and publish translational studies focusing on children and adolescents with externalizing and internalizing conditions. You will work in close collaboration with Professor Robert James Blair.
The Postdocs will be involved in several projects in the Research Unit of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center (see below), and assist the researchers via data collection, analysis, and the dissemination of results in scientific publications.
You will be part of an interdisciplinary group of postdocs, Ph.d. and senior researchers in the Research Unit at the Center for Child and Adolescent Psychology, where you will benefit from a dynamic and inspiring professional environment.
Your colleagues will be researchers who carry out clinical, epidemiological and other research within child and adolescent psychiatry and related areas at a high international level.
During the term of the employment, supervision will be provided as well as possibilities of educational upgrading and a final written evaluation of the post doc’s qualifications.
The position
The Research Unit of the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Center conducts epidemiological, clinical, and translational research in child psychiatry with the overall aim to promote the best clinical and preventive practice.
Several prospective longitudinal intervention studies investigate both the effects of interventions and the neurodevelopmental and bio-psycho-social risk processes driving the development of mental disorders in children and adolescents and influencing the response to treatment.
The research Unit collaborates with several national and international research institutes.

- Has a PhD degree
- Can perform basic statistical analyzes independently
- Can work independently with all phases of the postdoctoral project, including planning and carrying out statistical analyzes and dissemination of results in scientific articles
- Has a focus on complying with rules and procedures in relation to data security
- Helps with data management
- Can cooperate and receive supervision
- Has the ability to communicate both verbally and as a writer of scientific papers for international journals.
