A 1-year postdoc position is available at the Section for Computational and RNA Biology, Department of Biology, University of Copenhagen. The position will be available as of September 1st, 2020. The Section for Computational and RNA Biology is located in the Copenhagen Biocenter, which is 3 km from the center of Copenhagen.
The position is in the group of Jeppe Vinther and is a collaboration between the VintherLab and professor Jens Bukh at the Copenhagen Hepatitis C program. We are looking for a motivated and skilled postdoc to work on Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) RNA structure and modification. The VintherLab has experimental and computational experience required to perform sequencing experiments on RNA structure and modifications and the Bukh group are experts in cell culture models for HCV propagation. Related publications by the VintherLab: PMID 26220183, 25805860, 26068741, 24569351, 31504776.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be expected to perform experiments and participate in the analysis of the resulting sequencing data.
For consideration, applicants must have:
• A PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, medicine or a similar field
• Published in high-quality international peer-reviewed journals
• Demonstrated experience with experimental molecular biology
• Excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills
In addition, applicants with one or more of the following types of experience will be preferred:
• Sequencing-based experiments
• HCV or other viral cell culture models
• Methods for RNA Biology
• Data analysis
