Would you like to work in a dedicated team responsible for development of allergen extract manufacturing processes? Do you like to design laboratory studies and help carry them out in close collaboration with skilled technicians? Do you have experience with protein extraction, microfiltration, dia/ultrafiltration and separation methods?
The position
Drug Substance Development is a department in Pharmaceutical Development of 12 people working with the development and optimisation of manufacturing processes for protein extracts. We carry out experiments in development laboratories, where we work with 10-20 ml in laboratory equipment and up to 5-15 liters in process equipment. We work primarily with the unit operations extraction, microfiltration, chromatography, filtration, and dia/ultrafiltration. The tasks are carried out in collaboration with the department's technicians and other scientists.
As a Principal Scientist in Drug Substance Development, your primary task will be the preparation of CMC documentation, including design, execution, data processing and reporting of development studies. You participate in CMC development projects for new products as well as life cycle management projects for existing products. We use analytical methods such as HPLC, SDS-PAGE, BCA, particle measurements and immunochemical methods.
Changes in priorities often require flexibility and adaptability. We handle that with a smile while helping and learning from each other in an informal atmosphere characterised by enthusiasm and commitment.

Your profile
We expect you to have an academic education as an engineer, pharmacist, biochemist or similar, as well as 5-8 years’ experience with development work in the pharmaceutical industry – preferably with proteins. Also, we would like you to have theoretical and practical experience with extraction and separation methods such as filtration, centrifugation, and dia-ultrafiltration.

Your focus will be the development, optimisation and support of manufacturing processes for our allergen extracts, including:
- Design, evaluation and reporting of development studies incl. analysis results of test samples.
- Responsible scientist in the laboratory when conducting studies in close collaboration with the department's technicians.
- Problem solving in relation to existing manufacturing processes of allergen extracts in close cooperation with the production area and other relevant areas.
- Writing CMC documentation.
Your profile
We expect you to have an academic education as an engineer, pharmacist, biochemist or similar, as well as 5-8 years’ experience with development work in the pharmaceutical industry – preferably with proteins. Also, we would like you to have theoretical and practical experience with extraction and separation methods such as filtration, centrifugation, and dia-ultrafiltration.
In addition, we expect that you:
- Like to participate in the practical study execution in the lab and afterwards to work with data processing and reporting of the results obtained.
- Have solid protein and analytical technical understanding to apply in development.
- Thrive on prioritizing your own tasks and meeting deadlines in a busy everyday life where you work independently and proactively.
- Have strong communication skills with fluency in spoken and written Danish and English.
- Are a good collaborator and sparring partner for your colleagues.
