Job Description

The Cardiac Proteomics Group at Department of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen wishes to appoint a talented PhD fellow (3 year position) and/or postdoctoral fellow (2 year position) for an international research collaboration that seeks to outline protein regulations involved in the pathogenesis of Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy. The research fellow will isolate protein complexes from the nuclear envelope in cardiomyocytes and use quantitative proteomics-based approaches to identify changes in the protein networks in the cardiac disease state. The fellow will be part of a larger collaborative undertaking with two international research groups, enabling experimental work in models of the disease in addition to work with human samples.

We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our team. Prior knowledge of cardiomyocyte biology and/or interaction proteomics is a preference.

Qualification Requirements

  • Holds a PhD (for post doc applicants) or M.Sc. (for PhD applicants) with experience from a relevant field including but not limited to Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Cardiology, Interaction proteomics
  • Ambitious, creative, independent and self-driven
  • Hands on skills and expert knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Experimental know-how of mass spectrometry-based interaction proteomics (LC-MS/MS)
    • Analytical know-how of Mass spectrometry data analysis
    • Experimental know-how of work with cardiomyocytes
    • Experimental know-how of isolating cardiomyocyte structural components
    • Experience in quantitative proteomics approaches
