The Software, Data, People, and Society Section (SDPS) at the Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen offers an environment with exciting collaboration between researchers working with software and process engineering, process intelligence and compliance, database systems, workplace studies, health informatics and participatory design. The SDPS section is known for undertaking research projects that require interdisciplinary collaboration across the university and engage external stakeholders, typically around development of new and innovative software systems.

We are offering two assistant professorships, each with three-year appointments, and we are looking for candidates in two different but related research fields.

Assistant professorship in Regulatory Compliance:
The candidate should have a background in formal logic and process modelling and the application of such to regulatory compliance and the development of software systems. The position will be part time, 2/3 of a full position. It is a benefit, but not a requirement, if the candidate is experienced in working in the software industry and interested in collaboration with industry on development of software for regulatory compliance and workflow management.

Assistant professorship in CSCW and Health Informatics:
We expect the candidate to be interested in conducting qualitative studies to understand practices with new IT systems in domains like healthcare but also engage in co-designing, experimenting with, and evaluating the new ways in which data and computer systems have effects on and changes relations among people and society. It is a benefit, but not a requirement, that the candidate has experience with global software development, collaboration with external stakeholders and AI-driven health care technologies.

The assistant professor’s duties at the department will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within the assistant professorship. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary for a full time position as assistant professor is currently up to DKK 437.843 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 74.871). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible. For the part-time position, the salary and pension at the university is scaled proportionally.
