Do you dream of working with research and development? Do you have experience with enzyme recovery and purification? Then you might be our new scientist for our R&D team at Novo Nordisk Pharmatech.

About the department
We are approximately 30 employees in the R&D department consisting of Principal Scientists, Research Scientists and Laboratory Technicians. You will become Research Scientist in the Resin R&D team which consists of 10 dedicated employees, developing and supplying novel materials for manufacturing of therapeutic proteins at Novo Nordisk and the biopharmaceutical industry. We work in close collaboration with our customers to develop optimal purification solutions for new and existing molecules used for the treatment of many different conditions. The atmosphere is relaxed and creative, and we always strive to improve the way we do things.

The job
Your key responsibilities will be to work as part of the team to drive and work on enzymatic development projects. You will identify methods through known procedures and the literature, planning and evaluation of laboratory experiments, preparing protocols and reports, as well as preparing and maintenance of development documentation. Furthermore, you will be supporting the production, quality and support departments with scientific data and engage in professional discussions, and work with the team to achieve identified goals and deliveries within projects, compliance and safety.

Qualifications
You are an experienced Protein Chemist or Engineer, with a Masters or higher level of education and 5 or more years of experience in a relevant field. Experience with enzyme recovery and purification would be an advantage, especially E. coli expression systems for the production of recombinant enzymes. You are a strong team player with a good understanding of the protein sciences. You have experience with taking on project leader responsibilities preferably within lab scale process development. Your ability to stay focused, even during busy periods, helps to ensure that tasks and project deliveries are properly planned and executed. You acknowledge the value in co-creation, and understand how to produce results together. You put attention to detail and have a strong quality mind-set. You are dynamic, flexible and able to cope with change, dedicated to ‘making a difference’ and ready to ‘go the extra mile’ when faced with challenges.
