We are seeking a dedicated Research Associate with expertise in genome editing and stem cell biology for a 2-year position in Stem Cell Research.
About the department
The department Stem Cell Discovery is a part of Stem Cell R&D, which specializes in the development of cell therapies for the treatment of serious chronic diseases - applying pluripotent stem cells for the development of novel therapies to treat serious chronic diseases. We differentiate stem cells toward therapeutic relevant cell types. You will join our dedicated team of approximately 20 employees including scientists, technicians and students, and you will be a part of the daily work in our stem cell laboratories.
The position
In the position, you will work within our dedicated stem cell biology teams and work with various genome editing technologies and pluripotent stem cells. You will cultivate pluripotent stem cells and introduce genetic modifications by genome editing. You will generate and select stem cell clones that underwent genetic engineering and characterize those genetically and phenotypically. Furthermore, you will in vitro differentiate pluripotent stem cells to disease-relevant cell types and study their behaviour in various assays. You will contribute to our internal projects by delivering high quality data and results timely.
Qualifications
You hold a master’s degree or similar education with a strong background in cell biology. Industrial experience and experience within stem cell biology is an advantage, but not a prerequisite. You have strong laboratory skills and enjoy being in the lab, running assays, cell cultures and to deliver high quality data and experiments. Experience with various cell culture systems, and techniques e.g. molecular biology techniques, qPCR, FACS, histology, and in vitro cell assays is an advantage. In addition to your strong laboratory skills and scientific profile, you are a dedicated, open-minded, and innovative team player with good collaboration skills, result-oriented and organised in your working routines.
