The Department of Public Health invites applications for a position as professor in occupational therapy and community-based research to be filled as soon as possible.
The position can be between 50% and full time dependent on the applicant’s wish to combine the professorship at SDU with a clinical or academic position elsewhere.
The University runs a master program in occupational therapy and the new professor will have a prominent role in securing the continued academic development of the program through teaching and supervision of master- and PhD-students.
The successful applicant will be expected to document original scientific production at an international level within the field of occupational therapy and community-based research and be able to develop the research field to a high international standard. The Department of Public Health is characterized by multi-disciplinary research groups, and experience from cross-disciplinary research will be expected. Further, experience from and a wish to continue developing community-based research involving citizens, local communities, and non-university partners will be an asset.

The successful applicant for the professorship will be employed in accordance with the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
Applications will be assessed by an expert committee. Applicants will be informed of their own assessment by the University.

• a teaching portfolio detailing the candidate’s prior teaching experience, teaching skills, and teaching philosophy
• a research plan detailing the candidate’s ideas and plans for her/his future research work.

- a PhD degree in health sciences or related areas
- research experience documented by international peer-reviewed journal articles within the field of occupational therapy and community-based research
- a documented record of teaching experience and teaching skills
- Documented experience from supervising pre- and postgraduate students
- Experience from attracting funding and project management
