Odense M

A postdoc position, initially for two years, is offered at the Department of Biology, University of Southern Denmark, Odense, Denmark. The position will be associated with Carolin Löscher’s Villum Young Investigator Group ‘Marine Geoengineering - A tool to mitigate Climate Change?’ and complemented with funding from the DESIRE project (Developing Sustainable Solutions from Biological Resilience) funded by Independent Research Fund Denmark. Aim of the postdoc project is to understand the impact of ocean alkalinity enhancement on biodiversity and on functional groups.

Our group is using metagenomic datasets, direct rate measurements and high-resolution profiling of nutrients, oxygen and carbonate system parameters. We would now like to establish the relationship between ocean alkalinity and diversity patterns, and to explore where ocean alkalinity enhancement makes sense to apply.

The postdoc should be interested in combining field work, marine biogeochemistry, ecology and bioinformatics. Application deadline: 8 August 2021.
