The Research Unit for Exercise Epidemiology (ExE), Department of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, invites applications for two positions as postdocs in digital screen use and human behavior to be filled in the period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2025 based at the research unit of Exercise Epidemiology (ExE) and at the Research Centre for Research in Childhood Health (RICH).
The positions
The candidates will primarily be a part of projects related to Generation Healthy Kids (GSB, https://www.SDU.dk/da/forskning/gsb). Important research tasks in the project include development of a school- and family-oriented intervention that target digital screen use- and sleep habits of children, managing the delivery of the intervention in a trial, and to support the systematic collection, analysis and dissemination of data.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

The EXE unit and RICH centre at SDU conduct research to i) investigate the effects of digital screen use, physical activity and sleep on humans’ physical and mental health, ii) develop and investigate the effectiveness of pragmatic interventions to promote healthy behaviors, iii) develop and validate objective and subjective methods to assess physical behaviors, sleep and digital screen use and iv) provide community-wide descriptive data of these behaviors. The unit and the centre consist of a multidisciplinary team that includes experts in epidemiology, data science, public health promotion, physiology and biomechanics and cross-sector collaborative intervention programs.

The scientific, technical and administrative staff support this through active participation in the department's professional and social life. Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- A PhD degree within health sciences
- Research experience related to the area of public health, documented by research output in peer-reviewed publications
- Experience with project management of research activities
- Competencies to engage in knowledge exchange and collaborations with and for society
- Experience with quantitative methods and analyses
