Sønderborg
The Centre NanoSYD at The Mads Clausen Institute invites applications for a 32-months Postdoc position in the field of stretchable organic electronics. The position is located in Sønderborg, and the starting date is 1st of October 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.
About the project
The focus of the Postdoc position is to develop in operando characterization techniques that allow microstructural and electrical device characterization during mechanical stretching of organic thin-film devices, and on the basis of this to develop improved stretchable electronic devices. This involves synchrotron X-ray characterization of the organic thin films complemented with scanning probe microscopy and electrical transport measurements.
About the candidate
We are looking for a highly motivated and ambitious postdoctoral researcher with a PhD degree in a field related to the topic, such as engineering, physics or chemistry. The preferred candidate has significant expertise in synchrotron X-ray scattering experiments preferably combined with experience in thin-film deposition, scanning probe microscopy, and electrical device characterization. Moreover, the preferred candidate has strong skills in communicating scientific results in English (written and spoken), can work well in a team as well as independently, and can quickly acquire new knowledge.
Research environment The successful candidate will be affiliated with the nanoscience centre NanoSYD at the Mads Clausen Institute, University of Southern Denmark, which is located at the Faculty of Engineering on the international campus in Sønderborg, Denmark. We offer a modern, inclusive, international and interdisciplinary working environment with state-of-the-art facilities as well as a strong tradition of international collaboration.
